فرش‌های دستباف رستم یکی از قالی‌های کالکشن تصویری فرش حیدریان است. در دوره قاجار با ورود عکاسی و چاپ سنگی به ایران، مردم به تصاویر این هنرها بسیار علاقه‌مند شدند و آن‌ها را وارد دست‌بافته‌های خود کردند. یکی از زیباترین قالی‌های تصویری ایرانی که در مجموعه حیدریان بافته می‌شود، قالی رستم است. رستم نامدارترین پهلوان ایرانی است که در شاهنامه فردوسی از او یاد شده و پرتره او در این قالی به تصویر کشیده شده است. این پهلوان در دوران زندگی‌اش اعمال قهرمانانه بسیاری مرتکب شد که ازجمله مهم‌ترین آن‌ها می‌توان به کشتن دیو سپید اشاره کرد. در نبرد با دیو سپید، هنگامی‌که رستم او را کشت، از کاسه سر دیو کلاه‌خودی برای خویش ساخت که در تصویر این قالی نیز آن را به سر دارد.

Rostam hand-woven carpet is one piece of Heidarian Carpet’s pictorial collection. In the Qajar period, when photography and lithography came into Iran, people became very interested in the pictures of these arts and included them in their handwoven products. One of the most beautiful Iranian pictorial carpets woven in the Heidarian collection is the Rostam carpet. Rostam is the most famous Iranian hero mentioned in Ferdowsi’s Shahnama, in which his portrait is depicted on this carpet. During his lifetime, this warrior committed many heroic deeds, one of the most important of which is killing the Div-e Sepid (white demon). In the battle with the white demon, when Rostam killed it, he made himself a hat from the skull of the demon’s head, which he is also wearing in the picture of this carpet.
